About Rick
Rick is known for his lush gardens with cottage style influences. Due to his intuitive and modern approach to his designs, he always creates unique places. Imaginative gardens where residents and users can dream away.
Creative and intelligent, he tells his story that fits perfectly with the given situation and at the same time creates a special new world. He pushes boundaries without going over them. Always looking for the right balance and the ideal mix of elements that support each other. Elements that in balance tell a new story and connect the customer's wishes.
Rick is a real plants man. As a child, educated by his mother, he knew how to name almost all plants, including the specific characteristics of the plant. This exceptional knowledge of plants, in addition to his ambition to plant gardens as naturally as possible, results in on point and exceptionally unique plant designs. Sustainable and always in favor of ecological biodiversity, in short, plants that best suit their environment are the basic starting point. The plants specifically chosen by Rick within the plant design always fit seamlessly into his garden design and strengthen his overall story.
Inspired by innovators such as Mien Ruys and her 'garden rooms', the 'prairies' of Piet Oudolf, the landscape gardens of Miranda Brooks and the natural styled gardens of Arabella Lennox-Boyd, Rick creates his own unique modern new lush garden designs. Rick, originally from Friesland, lives in Amsterdam and works in the Netherlands and abroad.
About Debby
With her special spatial insight and sense of design, Debby creates unique green projects for indoors and outdoors.
From an early age, Debby has been intrigued by spaces and their design. It quickly became clear that she wanted to develop further in this area. She chose to study at the University of the Arts in Maastricht and Utrecht. After studying Art Direction for films, she studied interior design. Debby has designed and realized film sets for several years.
Due to her great passion for flowers and plants, she decided to train as a florist. Because of her flexibility and determination she was able to combine her work as a florist and and an art director for years.
At Groen by Rick van het Meer all her qualities now come together. Her passion for greenery, her spatial insight and her strong sense of design.
Whether it concerns interior planting concepts or the spatial layout and design of gardens and terraces, Debby develops and creates the most beautiful green situations.
About Antois
Antois is a true designer. His approach to garden design is conceptual but he never looses the desired functional requirements and the clients wishes out of sight. These wishes are always fully aligned with his designs.
After studying Fashion Design at Artez School of the Arts in Arnhem, he worked as a fashion designer for many years. For the last 10 years he has worked as Creative Director for various fashion brands.
He decided to become a garden architect and studied landscape design. As soon as he started it became clear that garden designing was even more satisfying than the designing of fashion. The decision was made and a career switch was a fact.
He finds that, in a way to design a garden is quite similar to design a fashion collection. In garden design it also starts with a clear framework; a clear story and a strong concept. This is followed by the completion of all the details; the design language, the textures, the colors and the materials. Everything in the right balance and proportion so that the design comes to life.
